...is a box and I like it, allthough it's flat on the floor.

Happy Caturday from our stormy city!

Pillows are nice, when they are the right kind. However, when a pillow is too firm and is blocking your favourite napping spot, that is just not acceptable.

See? There is hardly any room for Carlos to have a nap when the humans have made room for THEIR nap on the sofa... So unfair...

By the way, yesterday's belly rub position wasn't a trap. I do like them occasionally, especially when mom gives them to me.

...to scratch my belly?

Happy Thursday friends!

There is nothing wrong with me, but my staff has been more or less out of order for the past couple of weeks. You know, fall, school start and all kinds of bugs and germs going around. Well, why do they keep leaving the house, if they would just stay inside out house like I do all the time, everything would be all right! There's a thought I would say!

Research has shown that cats (and dogs) like canned pumpkin and that it is good for them.   I wondered what the benefits of pumpkin could actually be and if my cats would like this colorful member of the squash family.

There are actually four important benefits to adding canned pumpkin to the diet of your cat. Pumpkin is 90% water and high in fiber making it a good source of soluble fiber content making it particularly good for preventing hairballs -- as an owner of three Himalayans this is good news.  Zoey is checking it out!

Another benefit of pumpkin is that the fiber in pumpkin can act as a binding solution through your cat's digestive tract, absorbing excess water that helps pets with diarrhea. Pumpkin is also a good way to control the weight of your cat because the fiber in the pumpkin promotes a feeling of fullness.  Pumpkin also has a high nutrient content that includes: Vitamin A, C, and E.  It also has  alpha carotene that is an antioxidant, calcium, iron and lutein that supports eye, skin and coat health.

The amount of canned pumpkin you should feed your cat can be a tricky business depending on size and eating habits of your cat, but the new cat food by Tiki Cat called Aloha Friends that includes pumpkin makes the addition of pumpkin to your cat's diet easy as pie!  And, the flavors of this new food are not only healthy because they are grain free but also cat gourmet fare -- just ask Sabu ! He inhaled the entire pouch of Tuna, Shrimp and Pumpkin in record time barely looking up from the dish while eating it!

The case of Aloha Friends by Tiki Cat is  available at www.chewy.com  and is 20% off this month.  The case includes four  3 oz pouches of: Tuna with Tilapia & Pumpkin, Tuna with Ocean White Fish and Pumpkin,  Tuna with Shrimp and Pumpkin and, my cat's favorite and most unusual, Tuna with Calamari and Pumpkin.

This food is grain and gluten free and is made with big chunks of  flaked tuna.  The tuna and shrimp pouch actually has baby shrimp in it !  All the pouches have small pieces of pumpkin in a moisture packed broth that my cats really seem to enjoy. Sabu is now satiated (note the fleck of pumpkin on his face!) and will spend the rest of the afternoon cleaning himself and cat napping...and dreaming of another pouch of Tiki Tuna and Shrimp with pumpkin or for total decadence Tuna with calamari!

Check out www.chewy.com for all your pet needs. The auto ship is easy to use and you can change it up to two days before your product ships. When you purchase more than $40 the shipping is free!  Another bonus when scheduling autoship with www.chewy.com besides not having to run to the store  is that you save an extra 5% -- and for first time users of autoship, you save 20% !

I was outside for a long long while, and I kind of didn't really get into the mood. I didn't feel like roaming around the garden at all, I didn't even move too far away from the terrace. I chose three spots to hang out before I wanted to get back in.

Here...

...here...

...and here.

I sat behind the big one's bike for like 15 minutes, checking out what was happening. Nothing really was actually. The garden was still green and nice, but the air was already somehow different. I guess fall is really kicking in. Oh the circle of life...

I hardly ever play with any toys, except for the red dot. Mom found my good old mouse toy while cleaning up some drawers. I thought, what the heck, I could have a match or two with it.

After all, the mouse is hand made for me with love, by my grandmom.

Calling all happy adopters!

"Happy adoption stories? They are definitely talking about us."

This very blog's raison d'être is to showcase the joyful adoptions that happen weekly at Berkeley Humane. Our Going Home series lets adopters share, in their own voices, their perspectives on how pet adoption changed their life. We hear from adopters days, months, sometimes years after adding a cat or dog to their household, which gives us a broad look at the lifelong importance of sharing life with a loved pet.

Lily and Frankie: snuggle partners for life.

We just can't get enough of these post-adoption stories. So we're asking you for yours — and offering a free photoshoot in the bargain!

Head to our Happy Stories page and share your Berkeley Humane adoption story. Your story could inspire others to adopt pets in need of homes. And you might win a professional #LookingFurLove photoshoot!

So it seems the Olympic games are on again, and the TV is full of different sports. Silly humans.

I happened to watch some swimming qualifications, it reminded me a bit of lake cottage living...

I wonder if there are any fishes in that swimming pool? Then it all would make more sense...

I'm enjoying the sunlight at my favourite spot. Mom is getting a bit anxious since her summer holiday is coming to its end. On Monday she will return to her work. It's been a great holiday, so it feels sad to let go of it. Maybe I should try to cheer her up somehow? Maybe my mere existence would be enough? I might throw in a couple of purrs and head bumps to her too if I feel like it. After all, it's so hard to imagine her feelings since we kitties have the priviledge of no need to work. Well, I will at least enjoy the sun now. Have a happy weekend!
