Later on Christmas day, both Sadie and Lucy sat on my legs.

Then Benny came up too, so I had Jim take a photo.

This was the best Christmas gift of all!

I love the holiday time of year when friends and family get a together...my gang of five is very convivial and they love it when folks come to visit.  All of them vie for special attention, especially Mocha!  In order to make sure that my guests don't feed my begging kitties table food that might upset their digestive system, I decided to try out Raw Boost Mixers Instinct by Nature's Variety from chewy.com.  Raw Boost Mixers are really healthy and packed with protein that will ensure that your four-footed friends get plenty of healthy protein.

What is Raw?

Raw has real ingredients and is all natural, with vitamins and minerals derived from real natural foods.  There are no preservatives and nothing artificial.  Raw is never cooked because this company wants to preserve the integrity of the ingredients by never heating them or diminishing their nutrients.  Raw natural whole food without grain or gluten promotes maximum digestibility, the natural oils and omega fatty acids provide a healthy coat and skin, and the meat helps to maintain strong lean muscles.

What is Freeze Dried Raw?

Freeze-dried raw is 100% raw nutrition that sits safely on your pantry shelf. All the moisture is removed from the natural frozen recipes without heating or cooking, to lock in nutrition and taste. The ingredients are preserved by using cold pressure technology. Also known as high-pressure processing this method uses pressure instead of high heat in order to create an all-natural, safe, raw pet food that can be used as is.

About Raw Boost Mixers

Nature's Variety is a U.S. company based in Lincoln, Nebraska started to make small batches of pet food from real meats, whole fruits, and vegetables, coconut oil, apple cider vinegar and turmeric, to name a few ingredients in order to create a pet food that stimulates overall wellness, immune and digestive health, lean muscles and a healthy skin and coat.  All their raw pet food starts with pure animal protein, not peas or potatoes because they believe that animal protein provides all the essential amino acids that our pets need.  Raw Boosters is freeze-dried and made of real protein-packed chicken that is minimally processed.  There is no grain or gluten. They start with 12 ounces of real chicken and chicken liver plus whole vegetables and fruits and then freeze-dry these ingredients locking in the nutrients and flavor.

How to Use

The beauty of raw boost instinct is that it can be used in two different ways.  It can be used as a special healthy treat right out of the bag or it can be used as a topper on your pet's favorite wet or dry food.  I tend to use raw boost as a treat for my gang of five.  Instinct Rawboost Mixersby Nature's Variety has had rave reviews on the chewy.com website giving it 4.6 stars out of five with 79% of those reviewing this product giving it great reviews and 94% of those reviewing this food recommending it.

This is a little late. . .
It is rare that we are home for a holiday. Most of the time, we are out of town and/or traveling. This year, because of Jim's work schedule, we traveled to his family early and were home for Christmas. Oh boy, did the kitties have fun! Even Lucy, who isn't really into boxes, had to check things out. And Benny was the first cat who jumped into a box.

Lots of fun was had by all.

This week is more of a "gifty" Thursday, as these pins were part of a Christmas gift from our friend Connie.

The turquoise pin is a Laurel Burch!

We love them all! Thank you!

In the spirit of the holiday, I decided to photograph and share some of my cat postcard/business card collection. All of these have been gifts from one particular friend. He picks them up during his antique mall travels during the year. Amazingly, there are no duplicates in my collection.

This will be a two-part post. Today will feature Christmas-themed cards and tomorrow will be other random cards. I'll notate postmarks or other things on the backs of the cards.

I'm re-sharing an old favorite--the time I caught Tucker trying to open one of Christmas presents. Listen to the very end to hear his raspy meow.

May all of your gifts be as fun to open this holiday season.

Jim bought me this hilarious and adorable holiday sweatshirt from Target last week. It lights up! And yes, I will actually wear it. :-)

Ringo seems to have broken himself while sitting in the sunbeam.

Please allow several hours' time for him to recharge/repair.

Our second Chewy review this month is Solid Gold Holistic Delights variety pack of cat food.
#chewyinfluencer

This food comes in several flavors, including beef, chicken, crab, and shrimp, in pouches. They are described as a "creamy bisque," which basically means shreds of food in a sauce. Coconut milk is an ingredient in the sauce, which is new to me for a cat food. This food has no grains or gluten, but it does have potato and pea protein in the list of ingredients.

The description on Chewy's website says you can use this as a meal, a mix in, or a topper. It may be a good food to hide supplements or pills in if your cat really likes it.

Be careful when opening these pouches! They can splatter easily. This is the chicken.

Three out of four cats liked this food, the exception being Ringo. Benny really liked this food and kept going back to the bowl looking for more.

Overall, we give this food a thumbs up!
